As the Founding Artistic Director of VOX Femina Los Angeles, I’m excited to kick off our 2025 Song Cycle Fundraiser—and I’d love your support! VOX is a phenomenal organization that I founded and puts women’s voices front and center—both in the music they perform and in the way they run things (spoiler alert: with heart, talent, and a lot of laughter).
Now, I know asking for donations during my birthday month may seem bold... but what’s a birthday without a little guilt-free giving, right? ??
Arts organizations like VOX are facing big challenges right now—funding cuts, rising costs, and the usual ""why fund the arts when you can build another parking lot?"" mindset. Ticket sales only cover about 15% of what VOX needs to keep the music going, so the rest comes from generous humans like you.
To do my part, I’m pledging to ride along the beautiful Ballona Creek Bike Path in Culver City on October 4th, along with other VOX members. There will be effort. There may be sweat. There will definitely be snacks.
In honor of my birthday and my love for this joyful, empowering community, I’m aiming to raise $1000—and every dollar truly makes a difference.
